A Moment with MBE Reigning Queen

A moment with Rene Shann-Phillips,  a well prepared 19 year old Queen; not just a pretty face, but well cultured and calm with smiles all the time.

You are the reigning Miss Black Europe International Scholarship Pageant Queen; what was the experience like on the 23th of August 2014 when you emerged the winner amongst other pretty ladies? I felt very overwhelmed as I have never won something so big before. I was very happy.
What is success to you and how do you go about it? Success to me is having a dream, chasing it and making it happen.

How far would you go in branding yourself for the success of your career? I would do whatever it takes because I really want to start my own business  in event management specialising in weddings.

If you were given a contract, loved everything about it, and are paid what you asked for; what kind of offer from another institution would make you change your mind? Although not everything is about money, I would change my mind if I got offered an increased wage as that would help me towards starting my business.

Looking back into your journey and what you have achieved so far; who and what inspired you? My mum; she is my source of inspiration and my No1 supporter and I know she will remain my number one..

Which animal would you compare yourself with and why? I would probably compare myself to a chimpanzee as it is one of my favourite animals. They are cuddly, active, funny, cheeky, clever and independent.

What are you busy with now apart from being a pageant and model? I'm just working my normal job trying to earn as much money as I can and also in the process of applying for university to study Event Management.

What would you say NO to? Anything I would feel uncomfortable doing.
Where do you see yourself in the next few years to come? Hopefully graduated from university, looking to start my own business.
What is it for you to be part of an organisation like MBE that is empowering the youth and touching the lives of the under privileged? It makes me feel happy that I am part of something that helps the under privileged and makes me realised how blessed I am and not to take anything for granted.

Best day of the week and why? Friday, because it's the start of the weekend and I love weekends.

Where and what is home to you? I'd say home is where I was born and raised which is England. I wouldn't mind living abroad but I know deep down that England will always be home to me.
