"Are you curious about the faith I embrace, in a world where we share one fate? Do you wonder why I advocate peace among faiths, when we dwell in one world that has one destiny? Are you astonished that I care about mankind from Albania to Zambia? Do you ponder why I'm engrossed with people from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe? Do you contemplate why I advocate for a nonviolent world from Abuja to Zagreb? We hail from diverse nations with distinguishable boundaries, it seems. In reality, we live in one boundless world, with one sun, one moon, and a borderless sky. We inhabit a realm where the climbing plant pulls the surrounding bushes, when we pull the former. We occupy a world where we can’t run from one another.
Accordingly, I'm a proud and gratified African, with the entire world as my constituency. I’m the individual with friends from many lands and climes. I’m the Christian with Muslim associates. I’m the one who treasures his faith, yet, tolerates Kabala practitioners, Shinto enthusiasts, Baha’i devotees, Sikhs, Scientologists, Taoists, Zoroastrians, and Unitarians. I’m the man who wants all to go to heaven, but doesn’t grudge those who prefer the abysmal inferno on the dim side. I agree that all societies, cultures, and convictions should show compassion, patience, and deference to one another. I profess that our wounded yesterday SHOULDN’T remain our children’s unhealed tomorrow, when we are done and gone.” – DELE AJAJA
