Lying is seen as pathological when it is so ceaseless as to be destructive to the liar's life, or the receivers of the lies. Even though lying is recognized as universal lubricant of social life, but when it becomes destructive it must be looked into, and see if it's mental disorder related.
It becomes so natural, and each word flows smoothly when you are narrating what actually happened (reality), you do not have to make any story up, and also you will be able to relate the same story over and over again correctly; but if you have to cover and defend one lie with other lie, then it becomes so difficult to remember it all. This is lying disorder; the memory fails.
There are different types of lies; Manipulative lies, Evasive lies, Melodramatic lies, Grandiose lies etc... All could be very destructive.
A person may tell different lies at different times, in contrast, truth is only one version, hence there is consistency in narration when telling the truth; it means "you do not need a good memory, if you tell the truth"... the truth flows naturally.
