I believe it was an opportunity for me to express my feelings and to remind them that they are priceless, precious and unforgettable; also tomorrow is not promised, we therefore need to appreciate ourselves when we still have the chance to do so.
In the middle of the night I reached out, I sent my first message to 'him' , I guess I was a bit lonely and I needed that father figure next to me and my mind was playing on me, I just wanted to say, I care, I cherish and I adore him. Few minutes before sending the message I was on the internet, somehow I came across Father's day, and shows the date as 'something', but what I saw in my inner mind was 'that' Sunday, meanwhile it read another date entirely; how, why, I don't know.
I went to sleep, as soon as I woke up my mind went back to Father's day again, it was a few minutes before 6 a.m; I picked my phone and called my father, he was in a prayer meeting session with the family, I said, "Happy Father's day sir", he replied with "Oh, thanks so much darling", and he shouted out for the rest to hear, and he repeated what I just said with a loud voice "Happy Father's day" and the rest joined him in screaming it very loud. I said, "bye sir, and God bless", they continued with their prayer meeting session, I ended the call.
I sent few other messages to my close pals; still no one doubted or questioned the date, I got appreciative thank you messages in return. Just after that, a call came in, it was my very close confidant and pal, we haven't spoken for awhile, so I thought he called because it's his special day, "Father's day" and wanted to share it with me; I said Happy Father's day to him, he replied, it's Palm Sunday, innocently I said it's father's day here, since I know that Father's day is not an International celebration, it differs from one country to the other.
We discussed about so much, then we said good bye. After ending the call, I was curious, then I went back to Google to check if it's Palm Sunday, Father's Day or both together; yes he was right, it wasn't Father's day where he lives, but Palm Sunday; goodly it was father's day in Spain and Portugal, I was a bit calm that I was right too, Immediately I sent Palm Sunday messages to those I previously sent Father's day messages to because they all live in the same part of the world as my friend that called. Funnily none of them realised the mixed up, they were all happy and appreciative of my special and thoughtful messages to them; they were all excited.
One thing I know and sure of is, we must celebrate ourselves each day and show it in every way we can, because tomorrow isn't promised; each day must be a happy day and fulfilling day.
Happy Father's day!
Happy Father's day!
