Burning Passion of A Tourism Expert: Dr. Mubo Eniola

Sola Opesan Brown & Dr. Mubo Eniola

It's so interesting when we meet someone that's so passionate about his field and uses all the knowledge and experience he acquired to impact their community, and also give professional advice to make their community great.

Being a preserver and an expert in culture and tourism, a man that has travelled far and wide within Nigeria and abroad; all he sees and thinks of is how to preserve the cultural heritage of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

Dr. Mubo Eniola is the first Nigerian PhD holder in tourism and culture. He has all it takes in his speciality. He was the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Kogi State of Nigeria) before his retirement in 2014. Due to his activities and work well done in culture and tourism he earned himself an MBE Improver Award that was hosted in The Gambia on the 19th of December 2015. He couldn't make it to the Gambia for some personal reasons. MBE Team made it possible to hand it over to him in Lokoja (Kogi) on the 31st of December 2016.

Being a continuous learner, I always search for and select the best teachers around. It was nice MBE made a good selection two years ago. When we finally met, I knew it was a perfect choice, Sure, our discussion and his explanation about things will stay forever. His passion, love, loyalty and professionalism are of high class. He's so open, sure of his words; whatever he says he'll tell you to confirm with the person in question. For him, there's nothing to hide. He's a good teacher, an elder and a leader that glows brilliantly. He's well branded and well rooted.

After a series of discussions, he asked me to go and see a few places of culture and tourism heritage. He demanded this so that I can see things by myself and be able to discuss with the authority about the present condition of these places that he has an abundant passion for. These are places of great value.

Without any doubt, after our 30 minutes face to face discussion, I know what he's made of; a complete gentleman, a man of integrity and honour that has passion and love for culture, tourism and the state.
