Seems Nigerians Are Naturally Patient People

Can you imagine people standing in a very hot sun for an hour or more just to withdraw some money? All very calm about it; waiting religiously and patiently. Even you'll see old friends and family meeting there and you'll see them chatting and well relaxed. Sure they know they have to wait for a while, so they pleasantly entertain themselves with gists.
What got me there? I was at a nearby fashion shop that has an EDC machine (Electronic Data Capture), also known as 'Point of Sale Terminal', but getting there, their machine wasn't working. We had to quickly get to an ATM machine.

At first it was very scary to join the queue for so many reasons, and also people with me don't buy into the idea of me doing so. But for me, I want to see it as an adventure, and also a feel of what others are going through in our dear nation.

I calmly opened a conversation with a few people on the queue. For them, it's not pleasant, but it seems they are used to the system and gradually it turned to a normal thing.

I'm just wondering and thinking, how long shall we manage situations that are not pleasant, struggle for things that are not meant to be struggled for and suffer unnecessarily for no good reason. If we still have to queue for an hour to access ATM in 2017; then, what won't we wait for till God knows when?
